BTVS 6x22 Grave - A few Giles Gifs and some thoughts and images
When I signed up for
big_damn_fest I surprised myself by picking the season 6 episode Grave, not because it was a bad episode, it was one of the best of the season in my opinion, but as a Giles fanatic I tend to choose episodes from the first three seasons.
In this episode I loved the competent, magical, ass-kicking Giles. This is Giles as he should have been.
First, what an entrance!

Then Buffy and Giles as we love them best.

And heroic, magic-wielding, ass-kicking, Giles - damn sexy

I sure wish the costume designers had dressed him like this in seasons 4 and 5!
And there were some lighter moments as well. Ones that did not involve making a mockery of Giles.

And lastly a few thoughts on the other characters in the episode (really I do notice them :)
Anya - She really came through for Buffy and Giles in this episode. I always felt they underutilized Anya, too often going for the easy jokes instead of letting her shine. But not in this episode. Anya rocked and really drove home the point that demon does not necessarily equal bad.
Buffy - Welcome back, Buffy! I understand all the issues Buffy was beset with from her whole death/ripped from heaven etc, but this is the Buffy I adore and had missed sorely. I only wish she was more like this in season 7, but that is for another discussion :)
Dawn - Finally an episode that shows Dawn's potential. Wish they had given her more opportunities like this rather than it's Tuesday, Dawn must be in trouble ...
The Nerds/Trio - Nothing against the actors, but never liked this plot-line
Spike - Hated the Two to Go/Grave pair of episodes for him and the whole getting his soul ... I felt he deserved a much better, original story line.
Willow - This really wasn't too big a surprise as they had been making her darker and darker. But I still preferred pre-magic using Willow. It was almost as if they made her a Mary Sue character, albeit a bit dark/evil in this episode.
Xander - Xander made so many bad decisions in Season 6 it was wonderful to see he and Giles as the ones that saved the day!
Comments/feedback/discussions welcome! Hope you enjoyed!
